Birmingham City owner Maxi Lopez has revealed that he is preparing to make a major announcement next month as the club looks to regain past glories after a turbulent start to life under new ownership.

Speaking exclusively to *The Athletic*, Lopez outlined ambitious plans for the future, including a new stadium, a state-of-the-art training ground and a host of new signings.

"Our ambitions will blow your mind," Lopez said. "We want to take this club back to where it belongs, at the top of the Championship and challenging for promotion to the Premier League."

Lopez admitted that the club had made mistakes in the past, but insisted that he had learned from those errors and was determined to build a successful future for Birmingham City.

"We know that we have made mistakes, but we are determined to learn from them and build a successful future for this club," he said. "We have a great team in place, and we are excited about what the future holds."

New stadium and training ground

The Blues have been linked with a move to a new stadium for several years, and Lopez confirmed that plans are in place to build a new home for the club.

"We are working on plans for a new stadium, and we hope to be able to make an announcement in the coming months," he said. "We also plan to build a new training ground, which will be one of the best in the country."

Ambitious transfer targets

Birmingham City have already made a number of signings this summer, and Lopez hinted that there could be more to come before the transfer window closes.

"We are always looking to improve the squad, and we have some ambitious transfer targets in mind," he said. "We want to bring in players who can help us achieve our goals."
